Beauty Abounds Note Cards

Hello Friends,

Good Morning all, It has been a rather windy couple of days, and this type of weather makes me want to stay inside even more and stay rather cozy and warm. It also helps the decision to play in my craft room way easier... I am sure that you feel the same way. It takes very little to persuade me that that is where I should spend my day...

So today's project is a bit of Simple Stamping.  When we were at ONSTAGE in Orlando in November one of the plugs for the event was getting back to simple stamping.  They even created the hashtag #simplestamping to tag your projects with.  So here is my attempt to keep it simple with just a few note cards and ink with the wonderful New Occasions Catalog set Beauty Abound.

Each note card is just using ink and stamps.  I have to say this was so much harder for me because I am not an inside the box kind of thinker.  I am totally a dancing outside of the box girl and keeping it simple was a challenge for me but here are my are ideas. I have created a set of 4 cards and envelopes for you.

Card #1  uses Mint Macaron & Gray Granite ink pads

Card #2 Uses Gray Granite and Pool Party ink pads

Card #3 uses So Safron, Mint Macaron, and Highland Heather ink pads

Card # 4 uses So Safron, Pear Pizzaz, Highland Heather, Pool Party, and Gray Granite ink pads

I tried to keep it as simple as possible, and they were all fun to make.  All the images came from the Beauty Abounds stamp set.

Be sure to check out all the supplies used to make these cards listed at the end of this post.

Happy Stamping!

What are you "Thankful" for this year?

Hello my crafting friends,

I am sure that all of us think deep this time of year about what we are "Thankful" for... and I am no exception to that.  I have had a rough holiday season this year with the sudden loss of my dad at the end of October, and I find myself pondering the things that I have not done that I really want to do.  The things that I put off because there is always tomorrow.... I think that we all know that we are not promised tomorrow, and that we have to live each day to the fullest.  So my post comes today with a "Thankful" message.

I am "Thankful" for the great memories that I have with my dad, and those quality moments that I can have with my husband, children, family and friends, I am  "Thankful" that I have today and I intend to live it to the fullest, and I am  "Thankful" for my faith and the possibility of tomorrow.

Who can you reach out to today, and change their lives for the better?  Who can we show and tell that we appreciate with a card or paper gift that we love to make? These are the things that I think about daily...  Don't put off today what could make you and others happier and more fulfilled!!

I love to craft, make cards, scrapbook, and spend time with my family and friends. I often put that off because of things I think have to be done first, I put it on the back burner to do later, when I really want to do it now.... I want to be happier today so I intend to share more of what I love with those that I love!  To make my today the happiest, and most rewarding it can be!  Life is short!

Today's project is a 3D Home Decor Framed Picture that is a reminder to myself to be "Thankful" for everything, and to take nothing for granted!

I love how this project says just that!  I used some wonderful products from the Holiday Catalog, I am sure that you had some of these listed on your wish lists too! Check the end of my post for a list of those supplies.  We are at the end of the Holiday Catalog so don't wait to long because these great products will be while supplies last and retired by the end of December so shop now and get them before they are gone... Use Host code "KAPDA3EP"  and shop with me!

My project was inspired by a creation that was made by another demonstrator whose name escapes me at this moment but she shared it at a Creative Connection that we attended in Medina, MN.   I used her overall concept and but changed it up and put my spin on it...

I love making 3D Home Decor and I plan to make a companion piece to go with this one that you can either change out the message in the frame or add it with this one on your walls... Decembers project will be "Blessed".  Join me in my home workshop to create a great companion to this Thankful picture.  Check out my events tab for all the details!

Joyous Noel Gifts

Good Afternoon Friends,

I have been home from Orlando for a month now and I am still just reeling from all the excitement of the new products that I have seen, new techniques to try, and all the wonderful things that Stampin' Up! gave us for attending.  I have been having a very productive week creating with my favorite suite in the Holiday Catalog, Joyous Noel...  The catalog just doesn't capture the beauty in this suite of products like when you see them in person.  They are just beautiful!!

Today I am sharing a couple of cute pillow boxes that can be filled with all kinds of goodies.. These Craft Pillow Boxes are sold in a package of 10. They have tiny white polka dots on them so they are not plain, just a perfect background to add to.

I put little truffle candies in my boxes, but they could hold a variety of items to gift to someone special!

I used the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to make the belly bands for the pillow boxes, I played with the pieces used making them different widths to see what it would look like... Which do you prefer the narrow or the wide. I have mixed feelings because I love the overall look of them both...so I like them both, but I would love to know which one you prefer...

I used the Sprig Punch, Pretty Label Punch, and the 1 3/8 Circle Punch to decorate the sentiment on the pillow boxes.  The circle of glimmer paper adds the perfect touch of sparkle.  I used the same sentiment on both as it fit perfect in my stacked label the best.  The sprigs were punched in Sahara Sand cardstock, Tranquil Tide cardstock, and Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper.  I also used the Sahara Sand Cardstock for the Pretty Label too.  The sentiments were stamped in Tranquil Tide and Merry Merlot inks.

The ribbons that were used to make the cute and fun bows at the top of the pillow box were Shaded Spruce ribbon from the Metallic Ribbon Pack, and the Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon. The Merlot & Copper Ribbon was only tied with one bow, but the Shaded Spruce one I quadrupled the ribbon by wrapping it around 4 fingers 3 times even top and bottom of my fingers with tails on opposite ends, then tied it with the single strand that I wrapped around the pillow box to give it a fuller bow since the ribbon is more narrow than the Merry Merlot ribbons.

These cute little boxes will make great gifts for my co-workers for next week when we have our Secret Santa Potluck...

Supplies Used:

  • Kraft Pillow Boxes (2)
  • Whisper White, Tranquil Tide, Sahara Sand and Merry Merlot cardstock
  • Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
  • Sprig Punch, Pretty Label Punch, and the 1 3/8 Circle Punch
  • All three colors of the Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper
  • Shaded Spruce Metallic Ribbon
  • Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon
  • Tranquil Tide & Merry Merlot Ink Pads

A set of Joyous Noel Scrapbook Pages

Welcome to our Blog Hop today, I have been honored to be offered the opportunity to join some fabulous Stampin' Up! Demontrators around the world, and today I am bringing you some inspiration from my craft room.  Kylie Bertucci's Training has given me the opportunity to share with all of you and I am quite honored to be with you all today!  Be sure to check out the other blogs listed in this blog as well, they will be nothing short of amazing I am sure.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kylie at the Orlando 30th Anniversary Convention this past weekend, and several other wonderful demonstrators that take part in this Blog Hop... Truly inspiring women I just have to say!

Today I am here to share one of my first paper crafting loves... and if you have seen the first photograph below then you already know that it is Scrapbooking.  I was introduced to card making when I joined Stampin' Up! almost 6 years ago, and I love to make cards...but my first passion is Scrapbooking.  I have been a scrapbooker for almost 20 years but when I move to Fergus Falls, MN I didn't know any scrapbookers.  I was introduced to Stampin' Up! and got hooked...But we have to stay true to our loves so today that is what I decided to start this hop with.

You will see that I love to create fun pages for my books and I know that you will like these as much as I do!

The featured pages were a great deal of fun to make. I have loved this set since the new Holiday Catalog came out.  I even featured it on my Facebook Page showing them to you in a live video.  Be sure to check them out if you would love to see the products up close and personal...This is the only way to do it for sure and see the products in detail.

I love all the elements in this suite, from the Peaceful Noel Stamp Set, and the Sprig Punch, to the Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8" Reversible Ribbon and Snowflakes & Stars Wire Elements. They both add such an element of depth and sparkle... and who doesn't like sparkle.  I used the Tranquil Tide and the Copper glimmer paper to add that element of sparkle to the pages.  I even used the Merry Merlot sparkle as dots on some of the stamped images on the photo mats...  Just a little sparkle everywhere.  I love the detail that the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder gives the  Merry Merlot border strips.

The Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper really adds to the Noel Page of the set.  I love the accents of copper foil on the alternating papers.  I also used the Copper Metallic Thread in with the sprigs that surround the edges of the photo mats.

These pages I hope inspire your own creations with this suite of products.... I can't wait to create more projects with this suite so be sure to check back.  A list of all the products are at the bottom of the post.  Be sure to check out some other examples using this suite on pages 28 & 29 of the Holiday Catalog.

If you don't have a Holiday Catalog be sure to comment below so that I can send you one!  This suite would be the perfect starter kit, and I would love to share with you how you can get this and more, and a discount!  Everyone loves a discount!
